Location, versatility and professionalism have made Ålesund the leading port between Bergen and Trondheim. The city’s public and private quays are visited by more than 14 000 vessels, annually. The freight volume is 1,4 millions tonnes.

Last but certainly not least, Ålesund is Norway’s fishing capital and the registration port for a significant proportion og the sea-going fishing fleet.

he city of Ålesund has 40 000 inhabitants and is the “capital city” of Sunnmøre district. It is also the hub for the whole of Møre og Romsdal county, a position which underlines Ålesund as one of ten national ports.
